 The
LaserStar micro welding system allows us to accomplish repairs
that are impossible by any other means. The laser is fitted
with a microscope and uses laser bursts lasting only milliseconds
to weld all types of metals together. The power of the unit
can be adjusted as needed, allowing us to use very small,
precise welds in delicate or sensitive locations.
Unlike soldering, very little heat is generated with
our laser. The combination of microscopic precision and
low heat allows us to make strong, but tiny welds right
next to the most complicated and intricate jewelry parts.
Even plated costume jewelry can now be successfully repaired.
Valuable antique jewelry pieces whose finish cannot be
altered are prime subjects for this method. Eyeglass frames
with special plastic finishes can also be repaired in
an attractive manner. We can do things with this machine
and our experience that very few other jewelers in the
United States can do.
